    How many maps will be in Battlefield: Bad Company 2? 8, 12, 16 or more? We don't know for sure, but here is what we do know.

    Tactical Field Guide on UltimatePrestige.com lists 8 maps

    Members on BFeditor.org forums found 10 12 map loading screens in the PC beta

    DICE programmer, Mikael Kalms responded to a tweet asking how many maps there will be at launch and quoted this from an IGN review published back in December.
    @Kalmalyzer Its really a great game you got here May you tell me how many maps we see at launch?

    It's possible not all the maps have been posted on UltimatePrestige.com and not all of loading screens were finished by the time the PC beta went out. We also don't know if the 16 maps talked about above includes or excludes variants such as rush and conquest.

    There is a rumor posted by BadCompany2Blog.com stating that Strike at Karkand is coming as free DLC post launch. The source seems to be a friend of a friend of a friend so I wouldn't take this too seriously, but it could be a possibility. Karkand still is a big time favorite of Battlefield 2 players.
